The Dordogne area,

starting with the small beautiful village of Carsac and Aillac, the city of Domme overlooking the river, villages and castles of the same name that are La Roque Gageac, Castelnaud and Beynac, the castle of Josephine Baker «Les Milandes », the Marqueyssac gardens that offer the best views of the river … 

The Correze area,

called this place the “Low Corrèze”, with the beautiful villages of Turenne, Collonges la Rouge and Curemonte, ancient ports of the river Argentat and Beaulieu, Lake of Causse, the village of la Chapelle the Saints and Museum of Neanderthal man … 

Further west, another valley that we invite you to discover during your stay in La Paille Basse, is the one through the one passes the Vézère river, from the Lascaux caves, down to the National Prehistory Museum in Les Eyzies de Tayac. Considered as a must in human origins in France, several hundreds of thousands of years ago, many prehistoric men used to live there. Nicknamed “the Prehistory Valley”, many vestiges testify to this past. You can discover the footprints left by our ancestors, during your visit in the many sites dedicated to this theme.
